This architectural project can be traced back to the summer of 2021. During this period, our firm (BE STUDIO INDONESIA) received a request for immediate on-site consultation from a private client. Upon arrival at the client's house, the construction was already halfway complete. While the initial design concept had been established, the project's progress had stagnated, leading to the client's decision to seek new architecture consultant.

This presented a new challenge for our firm, assuming responsibility for a partially realized building was a departure from our standard operating procedures. Nevertheless, we accepted the challenge with the understanding that we would be entering a complex and unfamiliar territory.

Given the competitive nature of the architectural industry, it was anticipated that our involvement would position us in direct competition with the previous architectural firm. However, our firm wanted collaborative approach. Rather than viewing the previous architects as colleague, we established an open dialogue with them, creating a cooperative relationship centered on the goal of realizing the client's vision. This unique partnership allowed for a comprehensive understanding of the project's history, challenges, and potential avenues for development.

The site itself presented an intriguing paradox. From the outside perspective, the property blended seamlessly into the surrounding neighborhood. Yet, behind the unassuming facade lay a land approximately +2300 m2, offering a canvas for the architect. The clients wanted a home that would not only accommodate their family's needs but also elevate their quality of life. This aspiration was particularly pronounced in the context of the global pandemic back in 2020 until 2022, as the home was to serve as a sanctuary and a hub for family life.

Consequently, our firm was tasked with the challenge of reimagining and completing a partially constructed building while addressing the evolving needs and desires of the clients. This project represented an architectural practice, demanding innovative solutions and a deep commitment to collaboration and problem-solving.
